Professional Standards
Every professional who applies to Nonprofit Connections Pro agrees to uphold these standards. Members reaffirm them each year as part of verification renewal.
- 1
Honest representation
I represent my experience, credentials, capacity, and results accurately in all materials, proposals, and conversations with nonprofit organizations.
- 2
Nonprofit-first practice
I recognize that resources entrusted to nonprofits are held in the public trust, and I scope, price, and deliver work with that responsibility in mind.
- 3
Clear agreements
I put scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees in writing before work begins, and I communicate promptly when circumstances change.
- 4
Confidentiality
I protect client data, donor information, and internal organizational matters, and I obtain permission before referencing a client publicly.
- 5
Ethical fundraising conduct
Where my work touches fundraising, I follow accepted ethical standards, including not accepting compensation based on a percentage of funds raised.
- 6
Conflicts of interest
I disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest, including referral relationships and commissions, before an engagement begins.
- 7
Respect and inclusion
I treat board members, staff, volunteers, and community members with respect, and I work in ways that support equitable and inclusive practice.
- 8
Accountability
I respond to concerns raised by clients in good faith, and I cooperate with any Nonprofit Connections review of a complaint involving my work.
